Indiana’s Gore, often abbreviated to “The Gore”, is a slice of Indiana at its southeastern corner – in the “heel of the boot”, as Hoosiers might say. This region remained part of the Northwest Territory from the time the Indiana Territory was formed in 1787 until Ohio became a state in 1803.

The following counties and townships are either fully or partially encompassed by The Gore, and each place’s page provides geographical, demographical, and historical information plus a link to cases which occurred there.
