On November 17, 1934, William Stumpf was seriously injured by Joseph Klump in a fight at a dance. William was found dead in his bed in St. Leon, IN the next morning. News articles give conflicting information about where the dance took place, with one claiming “Lawrenceville, KY”. It is clear that the location was actually in Dearborn County, but unclear whether it was Lawrenceville (in Jackson Township) or Lawrenceburg (in Lawrenceburg Township).
