On October 24, 2020, Staci L. Coyne died due to multiple stab wounds suspected to be inflicted by Brandon G. Evans, who threatened police with a knife when they answered a call about a domestic disturbance at the apartments where Staci and Brandon were living together. Brandon was shot in self-defense by a responding officer.
